Contact (Part of Broderbund) (But Broderbund say that "currently we only ship to the US and Canada.") I have been unable to find a UK supplier of this title. My only suggestion is to search for Amazon Trail 3rd Edition and then find a US supplier who is able to ship to the UK.

Program evaluation The adventure needs a lot of time, but if your timetable is imaginative and flexible enough, and if you feel brave (or foolhardy) enough to exercise your professional judgement and forget the UK's neo-Victorian Literacy Hour and the Ofsted thought police, then this should really inspire your students. They might even begin to enjoy school again! (But first you'll need to find a UK supplier of the software.) Even at the novice level I feel some students would easily become lost and confused, which whilst very realistic (!) can also be a bit demoralising - but with co-operative / collaborative use this would be less of an issue. |
Program Details This is one of the more demanding adventures. There's a great deal of thought needed as you journey up the Amazon River to Vilacamba - a great Inca city with palaces, temples and fountains. The sound and graphics are very realistic. When talking to the guides and other characters you meet along the way the dialogue and animation is very believable. In the process students learn much about the Amazon Rainforest - its history, geography and science. The story is not set in any one time period which might be confusing to some as they meet conquistadors as well as modern day business executives. Cost:: Around $29.99 for single user licence. |
