Age  29
Which firm do (did) you work for? Lancashire EBP - Walker Park, Blackburn
What is (was) your job title and what do (did) you do? Work-related Learning Manager - responsible for delivering the Compact programme (in high schools) plus Vocational Partnership Programme (High / Special schools). Managing education / business activities to include: student development courses, SRB projects and literacy projects.
How long have you been mentoring? 6 - 7 years
Qualities you think help to make a good mentor. Good listener always helps, someone who can give impartial advice. Someone who has patience and is easy-going.
What do you think you've got out of mentoring? Rewarding. I find it interesting learning about other people's lives. It has helped me build on my own confidence and communication skills.
What's the hardest part of being a mentor? I often feel guilty that I can't visit my mentee as often as I would like due to work commitments.
Do you think mentoring has been beneficial to the students you've mentored? I would hope that I have been able to help the students with employability skills; i.e. CV, mock interviews and key skills.

Suzanne began mentoring for us in the last century - and is still with us.
