Does it work? We thought it did but accept the difficulty of measuring some of the achievements of the Project in terms which meet the demands of a target-driven education system. However, the 2004 Achievement and Attainment figures placed Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School 5th most improved maintained school in the top 100 schools. But how far the Project contributes is hard to say. It was one of the many different achievement-raising strategies in place in the school. The Success Stories section shows some of the achievements of the Project where these are easily measurable. Increased confidence is hard to measure but was a feature of the Project. In 2001, some of our mentors and mentees received awards for Outstanding Mentoring Relationships and in 2005 the mentoring programme received the Excellence in Mentoring accreditation from the UK's new Mentoring and Befriending Foundation. But perhaps one "measure" which shows the power of the Project, is a thank you note from a former Project student.
